Forest Disturbance remotely identifies canopy depletion arising from disturbance events such as storm damage, determining affected stands and the extent of deterioration. We use satellite and multiple data feeds to tell you when an event has happened, its location and impact, plus the count, volume and value of inventory. This means we can help you to account for harvesting activities as well as unplanned disturbance events.

The resulting data layers can be used directly in your existing GIS systems, or hosted through Rezatec’s Forest SAT dashboard, where you can view visualization and analytics data. Quarterly updates ensure you can see progression of disturbance events over time. Our algorithms correlate a sequence of satellite-derived data to monitor forest changes and identify significant negative changes in canopy cover associated with felling, illegal logging, forest fire, pest, disease and storm damage.
